FABIO LENZI : August 7th 1966 - February 2nd, 2003

In the early hours of Sunday, February 2nd,2003 ; I received the NEWS of a DEAR Friend of mine Fabio Lenzi from MAX Models in South Africa.
I am sure many of you in the business know Fabio had a HEART of GOLD ... we will miss him terribly.
Shot and killed in a senseless CRIME.

In your busy day today we hope you could take a moment to say a prayer for his Family and all his friends. We are all thinking of you in these troubled times. God Bless you.

The Story in LOCAL PAPERS:

Cape Town - A 36-year-old Italian citizen was shot and killed during an armed robbery in Cape Town on Saturday night, police said. The victim's 28-year-old American companion was being counselled for shock, said Senior Superintendent Mary Martins-Engelbrecht. The Italian man had been living and working in the Cape since September and his American companion was a model who arrived in January on an assignment in the city. The couple had parked their car in the parking lot of an apartment block in Davenport Street, Vredehoek, around midnight when a white Nissan 1400 bakkie pulled up alongside them and three men armed with handguns got out. The woman was robbed of her cellphone, jewellery and personal belongings and the man was dragged out of the car and also robbed. Martins-Engelbrecht said one of the three gunmen then calmly shot the man in the chest before driving off in his car. His two accomplices drove away in the bakkie. Martins-Engelbrecht stressed that the safety and security of everyone in South Africa, citizens and tourists alike, was of prime concern to the police. She was confident that an arrest would be made soon.
