Kincardine girl Jessica Stam happened to be spending the day with her family and friends at Canada's Wonderland ,on the way home she was discovered at a local Tim Horton's by Michèle Miller Agency owner of International Model Management in Barrie. What a chance meeting!! Miller herself had just arrived home from a scouting trip out west and stopped only to get a coffee to keep herself awake for the drive home.

Michele took one look at Jessica and ran out the door after her ( this was in Sept. '01) Michèle's first few months were spent preparing and developing Jessica while working on image , skin and hair style. Michele then took Jessica to New York for New York placement.

Stam spent her July ,August and Sept. of 2002 in New York while her career was off to a slow start. In Fall of 2002 Michele Miller decided that she was going to bring her for the shows in PARIS. While on this trip, Stam met Fashion Photographer 'MARIO TESTINO' who later booked her for MIU MIU. On this trip she also shot German VOGUE with Michel Comte and Walter Chin. Stam's career then took off !!!

Since then, Stam has shot several COVERS and EDITORIALS for Steven Meisel ....Editorial after editorial for every major Fashion Magazine! Stam has also shot

BCBG , Anna Sui , Giorgio Armani , The GAP , H & M , Prada , Dolce and Gabbana, Alexander McQueen , Miu Miu, and Marc Jacobs,Campaigns ... to name a few!
